From a kitchen table to The Independent
Who would have thought, when we started Cwtchie all those years ago, that one day our small Welsh business would be featured in The Independent? 🥹❤️
From an idea that started with a simple desire to create the ultimate wearable hug, to seeing Cwtchie named The Independent’s “Best blanket hoodie for comfort” for 2026… what a moment for our little Welsh business.
Cwtchie started with two friends, a good idea and absolutely no idea what we were doing! Those early days were filled with surprises, a fair few mistakes, lots of laughs and many hours spent around the kitchen table over cups of coffee, trying to work it all out.
We were two mums, juggling family life and work while trying to build something we believed in. From the beginning, we had a real passion for quality and for creating something that people would genuinely love to wear.
To now see Cwtchie sitting alongside some of the biggest names in the world of blanket hoodies is something we never could have imagined.

What makes it even more special is that Cwtchie is still exactly what we set out to make — a wearable hug, wherever you are. 🥰
Whether it’s a chilly evening at home, a family day out, camping, a garden BBQ or simply curling up on the sofa, we’re delighted that Cwtchie is bringing a bit of extra comfort to so many people.
And over the years, we’ve had the loveliest customers. Some have bought a Cwtchie for themselves, then come back and bought one for their partner, their children, their parents — sometimes even for the whole family!
